The Hardt Foundation
The Hardt Foundation was created and founded by Thomas M. Hardt in the spirit of enhancing our community. The mission of the foundation is to provide charitable contributions to the community by advancing education and assisting with social and economic needs. Mr. Hardt has a long-standing history of both local and national charitable involvement towards causes, including education, educational facilities, disaster relief and housing improvements for the impoverished. His participation always includes hands on involvement.
Thomas M. Hardt
Founder
Thomas M. Hardt has lived in Bakersfield, CA since 1957 and is a proud father to four children and eight grandchildren. Tom is a local builder/developer and philanthropist, whose family has been serving the Bakersfield community since 1960. He has personally spent over 50 years of his life providing single and multifamily housing, industrial and commercial developments to the community. Mr. Hardt was responsible for providing neighborhoods in all areas of our community.
In 2008, his generous donation of $1 million was the driving force behind Hardt Field, CSUB’s first baseball field. In 2022, Mr. Hardt continued his quest to enhance the field for the community and provided an additional $1.5 million dollar donation to expand the amenities at the field.
His philanthropy has extended both locally and across the country. He has been involved with organization such as the Golden Empire Gleaner’s Haven, providing housing and a community center for single mothers with children; Christmas in April, providing needed housing repairs; Habitat for Humanity, building and donating a home to a local deserving family; helping K-12 schools complete facility improvements and host recognition events. Tom was also involved in the rebuilding process of those affected by Hurricane Hugo and assisted those seeking refuge at the Houston Astrodome after Hurricane Katrina.
Tom is a proud alumnus of Cal State Bakersfield and was inducted into the CSUB Hall of Fame in 2016. After completing his productive business career, Tom has now shifted gears to giving back to the community by establishing the Hardt Foundation, a private non-profit organization. His hopes are that the Foundation can reflect his legacy of providing a hand up to those in need.
Adriana Sandoval-Morales
Executive Director
Adriana was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA and has a huge heart for her
community. As a daughter of a local construction company owner, she has seen
the city grow by leaps and bounds. Adriana has a bachelors degree in criminal
justice and political science and is a juris doctorate recipient. Adriana has been
married for over 10 years and has a beautiful set of twin daughters. She is
excited to start this new chapter of her life in serving her community by
overseeing the Hardt Foundation.
