Hardt Field
In 2008, Tom Hardt had a vision to elevate the CSUB Baseball Team. With the move to D1 athletics, it was imperative that the team have a state-of-the-art field to perform on the same level as the D1 schools. Tom Hardt took the challenge by not only donating over 1 million dollars, but also being the lead contractor in the field development. This included additional enhancements to the University which included utilities, roads and drainage basin. These monetary enhancements led to the University being able to install lighting to the field making nighttime games possible.
In 2022, Tom continued his support of the school’s baseball program and donated an additional 1.5 million dollars to build an auxiliary building that will provide, ticket sales, concessions, restroom facilities, merchandise sales, outdoor bbq area, entrance gathering plaza and vehicle drop off zone. Construction for the field enhancements is set to start the latter part of 2023.
